The Fort Pierce Central Boys Varsity Basketball Team is on the west coast this weekend playing in the Wally Keller Invitational in Punta Gorda, FL with a total of 33 other teams from across Florida.
In yesterday's action, the Cobras defeated Sarasota 63-47. Christopher Maxon (above left) scored 16 points, had eight assists, and was named player of the game. Central improved to 18-4 and is on a 12-game winning streak. Other notable performances included another strong showing for Derrick King with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Christian Maxon who had 13 points including 3-3 pointers to put his total 3-point shots made at 68. He is currently the leader in 3-pointers for the entire state of Florida.
The Cobras travel to Okeechobee on Tuesday then finish out their home schedule with Senior Night against St. Lucie West Centennial on Friday, January 27 in the Cobra Gym to determine the regular season District Championship.
